A family lived in a city in Balochistan near Karachi. They migrated from a village to the city for their children’s education. The family acquired a house and adorned it with colors. After a few months, they ventured out of the house to admire the city’s view. They also noticed many children being sent off to school, aged between five and fifteen mainly. This made them realize they should send their own children to school. They made a commitment to themselves to prepare their children for school in the near future.
The next morning, they went to various schools for admissions. Despite their children not knowing Urdu or English, they were determined for the quest of knowledge . The institutions demanded children to know at least one of these languages. This left the parents sorrowful and anxious. The father reassured himself, “I don’t just commit with words, it’s my actions that matter.” He decided to approach the principal and face the situation. He comforted himself and his family, saying that beyond difficulties, there’s sweetness.
Inside the school, they were initially unsure who to talk to. A kind lady approached them and inquired about their purpose. A noble person explained their aim to admit their hardworking children. The lady, not the principal, directed them to the principal’s office. Inside the office, with innocent faces, they explained their situation. The principal, recognizing their background, reassured them not to be nervous. She empathized with them and admitted their children, promising to fulfill their dreams.
Gratefully, they left the school, but the commitment continued to weigh on the father’s mind. Over time, their children excelled in school and university. After their graduation, a celebratory party was thrown. Still, the father’s happiness was incomplete, as he wished for something extraordinary.
He sent his children to another city, with impressive buildings, markets, parks, and institutions. Initially unsure, they ended up in a hotel they had unknowingly stood in front of earlier. They laughed at their confusion. They eventually found the right hotel and embarked on the journey of preparation for an ideal future. After various tests and posts, their parents witnessed the fulfillment of their dreams.
The father arranged a welcome party for the returning children. Seeing his children, the father couldn’t hold back his tears. The society celebrated their success. The story underscores the commitment to written promises, reminding that commitments should not go unfulfilled.
